Galerie Börjeson, Malmö, no date. (1983) Square 4o (23.5 x 23. 5 cm. ) created as an accordion-album with stiff boards. Black with yellow lettering. Front board an original silk screen - "With hat" - of Ingrid Bergman and rear board with a colored photo of Andy Warhol in his studio with a Bergman-portrait in his hand. Below that a quotation from Warhol in English and Swedish: "I'd prefer to remain a mystery..." etc. Interior print only on one side. The first page with Andy Warhol's autograph printed in white and the next page with a black and white photo reproduction of Warhol by Christopher Makos. The next two pages with texts in English and Swedish about Warhol by Per Olov Börjeson. Then in all 48 variations, trial proofs in colour, on glossy paper, framed in black, to be folded up. Inside both boards quotations from Warhol in English and Swedish in white lettering. For ex: "If you want to know all about Andy Warhol, just look at the surface of my paintings and films and me, there I am. There's nothing behind it." This is a near fine copy sealed in plastic and hosted in the scarce and spectacular original, black and orange cardboard box with "Andy Warhol" in black lettering and "Galerie Börjeson" orange lettering, on two sides. The box with only mild rubbing to extremities. Without the plastic handle, which never has been presented. This beautiful catalog was published 1983 on the occasion of exhibitions at Galerie Börjeson in Malmö, Sweden, Tampereen Nykytaiteen Museo in Tampere, Finland, Norraena Husid in Reykjavik, Island, and Trondhjems Kunstforening, Trondheim, Norway.

This is the front cover of volume IX, number 4 (April, 1979) of INTERVIEW, Andy Warhol's fabled tabloid. On this cover is a brightly-colored portrait of a young and attractive Jessica Lange, executed in purest "Interview" style. Warhol has added a fanciful necklace in felt-tip pen. Inscribed "To Lillyan" (sic) and FULLY SIGNED (again, in felt-tipped pen) BY ANDY WARHOL. 43 x 28 cm (17 x 11 inches), and thus COMPLETELY UNTRIMMED. Professionally deacidified and matted. In excellent condition. Provenance: "Lillyan" was Lilyan Cole, the second wife of Sylvan Cole (dean of American print dealers and a well-known fixture of the New York arts scene from the 1940s until his death in 2005.) When Lilyan died in 1989 this picture passed to Sylvan. Shortly before his death Sylvan gave it to me (his favorite nephew). Original drawing over a mass-reproduced color image is perhaps the perfect embodiment of Warhol's art. UNIQUE.

Dieses Buch ist eine echte Entdeckung: Christopher Trela, ein preisgekrönter amerikanischer Publizist, Autor, Verleger und Fotograf, hielt es erstmals 1991 in Händen, als er bei einem Straßenfest in der New Yorker Fifth Avenue an einem Stand mit antiquarischen Büchern stöberte. "The Autobiography And Sex Life Of Andy Warhol", so der Originaltitel des Buches aus dem Jahr 1971, war zu Lebzeiten von Andy Warhol bei Other Scenes Inc. erschienen und wurde danach nicht wieder aufgelegt. Trela war fasziniert von den vielen Interviews in dem Buch und den zahlreichen Fotos. Wie kam es, dass dieses Buch über Andy Warhol, den Star der Pop Art, in Vergessenheit geraten war "The Autobiography And Sex Life Of Andy Warhol" wurde so die "first oral biography of the artist" (Trela), die erste erzählende Biografie des Künstlers aus den frühen Tagen seines Ruhmes. Der Titel des Buches ist eine Idee von Warhols damaligem Manager Paul Morrissey und klingt wie ein Etikettenschwindel, denn über Warhol wird ausschließlich von anderen berichtet. Tatsächlich war Wilcocks ursprüngliche Idee, sein eigenes Leben zu beschreiben. Das Buch wurde so zu einem eigenen Kunstwerk. Trela legte das Buch jetzt neu auf, ließ es in bunten "Warhol-Farben" neu gestalten, ergänzte es mit wegweisenden Kunstwerken von Andy Warhol und vielen neuen, teils exklusiven Fotos.
