In 2009, The “I Love U Guys” Foundation introduced the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to districts, departments and agencies. The first school district to implement the program was Jefferson County, Colorado. The district of Columbine. Since then, thousands of schools, districts, departments, agencies and organizations in the US and Canada have adopted the protocol. The SRP is simple. It’s based on four actions. Each action is followed by a directive. The outcome is shared language and shared expectations between civilians and first responders in a crisis.
