“Once I was left with permanent psychological injuries, I was prepared to kill myself if the closure that I had always needed wasn't possible in being experienced that would allow me to continue living by being heard and being seen.” After gaining the strength to finally escape, Shikesh found himself waking up screaming and shouting from the nightmares that he started experiencing. Reporting the crimes should have been a simple and supportive process, but Shikesh experienced the complete opposite that left him further distressed. The impossible reality that Shikesh couldn't understand how to process was he would have got his justice in a Crown Court and he wouldn't have been left with permanent psychological injuries if he had used violence to save himself in 2016 than ever trusting the Metropolitan Police Force.
