Soft cover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition. 260 pages. Soft covers. UK and Commonwealth FALs" (Volume Two of the FAL Rifle Series) by R. Blake Stevens is the definitive historical and technical reference covering the evolution of the Fabrique Nationale (FN) FAL as adopted by Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and other Commonwealth nations. The work meticulously documents the progression of the rifle in these regions through the following key areas: Explores the rifle's wartime infancy in England, detailing Great Britain's initial development of the bullpup EM-2 and its testing against early FN-designed FAL prototypes. It covers the pressure from the United States to abandon the intermediate .280 cartridge in favor of the T65 round, which ultimately led to the standardization of the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. Details Canada's pioneering involvement with the platform, as they were the first Commonwealth nation to adopt and produce the FAL (known as the C1 and the C2 heavy-barrel squad automatic weapon). Chronicles the long, arduous journey to standardize the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle for the British Armed Forces, including the inch-to-metric dimension changes and manufacturing nuances. Discusses the Australian adoption and the heavy barrel variant (L2A1), along with the operational challenges and field performance of the Commonwealth FALs. Features original source documentation, line drawings, parts breakdowns, and black-and-white photographs of the guns in service. The book often serves as a key resource for military historians and firearm collectors. Scarce. A Near Fine to Fine copy with only very light use at a reasonable price.

Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: As New. 1st Edition. 511 pages. Almost 600 illustrations, many in color. Hardcover with a dust jacket. Huge volume. This is a well-informed discourse by a professional self-defense expert covering all aspects of the famous k-frame revolver, the tried-and-true cornerstone product of the prestigious armsmaking firm Smith & Wesson, Inc. of Springfield, Massachusetts. From its antecedent .32 caliber Hand Ejector model, introduced in 1896, through well over a century of production, the S&W K-Frame, revolver has long been the most perennially popular sidearm in the company's catalog, with production totals in excess of all other S&W models combined. K-Frame S&Ws have proven to be exceptionally versatile throughout this unprecedentedly long period. Fixed-sight M&P versions have provided much peace of mind to those who carried them as duty guns or who kept one handy for home protection, while the adjustably-sighted target models have performed with great reliability and precision in matches fired by a vast number of target shooters> both types have proven themselves over time to be dependable companions in wild and dangerous places. It is most interesting to consider, as we do in this book, how safety features on Smith & Wesson revolvers have been a recurring theme over the years. Obviously right from the beginning everyone connected withe newly-developed Hand Ejectors was familiar with the danger of a weapon firing when dropped if a cartride was under the firing pin. We have documented the repeated efforts by Smith & Wesson to ensure that their revolvers were free from this hazard, with the most recent modification being added in 1944 in responnse to the incident of a sailor who was fatally shot by his dropped Victory Model during WWII. A sequesl to Volume I, Magnum - The S&W Phenominon. The page and figure numbering in this book continnues on from wher Volume I left off, and a comprehensive Index to both volumes appears in the back of this book. An outstanding reference. Excellent. Out of print and scarce. A Very Fine As New copy at a reasonable price.

Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Fine. 1st Edition. 951 pages. Over 1,300 illustrations, many in color. A huge, heavy volume. The most popular military small arm in U.S. history has been the subect of a number of books, perhaps the most important of which are the perennially popular War Baby! and War Baby Comes Home. Both have been reprinted numerous times. Today, over seventy years since the birth of the U.S. carbine in 1941, interest in it has not only not abated, but has increased phenomenally. In addition to the over six million military carbines which were manufactured duing World War II, over one million commercial examples have been made or assembled since 1960. Since the initial publication of the War Baby series over two decades ago, the author has continued to research all aspects of the carbine program. He has thus acquired a great deal of new informaion, which takes the form of amendments and additions to existing material as well as new, previously unpublished data and illustrations. Taking into account the thousands of copies of the first two War Baby volumes already in circulation, we have decided not to revise them but to leave them as they are, and present all this new material here. Accordingly, each of the original 41 chapters in the two initial volumes is revisited in a new chapter set, numbered from 101 to 141, each containing all the amendments and additions pertinent to the original chapter. A comprehensive index covering all three volumes in the series appears a the end of this book. An outstanding collector reference. The Book is As New The Dust Jacket has a very short tear at the bottom front edge as well as some slight curling. Overall it is still in Fine condition. An opportunity to own a beautiful copy of an important reference at a reasonable price.

Hardcover. Zustand: Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Fine. 1st Edition. 340 pages. Hardcover with a dust jacket. Over 450 illustrations. Very detailed and comprehensive. "This book presents a comprehensive chronology of handgun development and production at the famous armsmakers Mauser-Werke of Oberndorf, Germany from 1877 through to the end of the French occupation period which followed WWII. It is well known that Mauser manufactured a number of pistols of the firm's own design. These included the locked-breech, self-loading C96, blowback pocket pistols, models of 1910, 1914, 1910/34, 1914/34, and 1934, two versions of the WTP "vest pocket" pistol, and the double-action HSc pistols. Mauser also manufactured several handguns which had been designed elsewhere, including Reichsrevolvers, Parabellum (Luger) pistols, including lange Pistolen 08 ("artillery" Lugers) for Persia and Siam, and versions fitted with 120mm barrels for the Swiss and for Swedish trials in 1938, plus many P38s during World War II. In addition, a great many other pistol models were developed in the Mauser V-Abt (the Experimental Department) which for various reasons were produced as prototypes only or in extremey limited quantities. An important reference for collectors and historians. Very Scarce and long out of print. The publisher is no longer in business. Both the Book and the Dust Jacket are in Fine condition with only the lightest use. A beautiful copy of a hard to find book at a reasonable price.

The Bren Gun Saga is widely considered the definitive "encyclopedia" of the Bren light machine gun (LMG), detailing its history from its origins in Czechoslovakia to its long service with British and Commonwealth forces. The book serves as a comprehensive technical and historical record, covering the entire lifecycle of the weapon through the following key areas: *Czech Origins: It traces the development of the Bren's forerunners, the ZB 26 and ZB 30 models produced at Brno in Czechoslovakia, and the competitive trials that led to its adoption by the British Army. *Production and Design: Detailed sections document the manufacturing process, including rare photgraphs showing the machining of solid steel blocks into receivers and the fabrication of major components. *Evolution of Variants: The text catalogs all major Bren variants, including the Mk I, Mk II, Mk III, and Mk IV as well as the post - 1958 L4 series converted to 7.62mm NATO ammunition. *Techinical Breakdown: Accompanied by over 400 illustrations, the book provides line drawings, gun breakdowns, and detailed photographs of design facets that are often overlooked in general histories.
