Pages are moderately tanned with noticeable foxing throughout. Cracks to hinges, exposing netting. Cracks to guttering, causing pages to become loose. Illustrations and plates are moderately tanned with some foxing. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have visible edge wear with corner bumping. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Fraying to spine edges. Black marks overall. Book is bowed and forward leaning.

Large ink inscription to verso of frontis. A few hinges cracked so binding feels weak. Some light foxing and an odd mark to contents. One plate is MISSING and one partially detached. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

From the collection of illustrated juvenile fiction (1890- 1930) of Brian Mills (ÕThe DreamerÕ) (1939- 2011). He left no signs of of his ownership but they are distinguished by their excellent bright condition in a genre that often shows up rather wornÉhe was known to constantly upgrade his collection. Slight tanning on front endpaper, otherwise very good indeed. Excellent condition.
