The painter Leys, leader of the Antwerp school of romantic historical painters received in 1862 the commission to decorate some of the rooms of the 16th century Antwerp townhall. In this commemorative album his commentary and motivation on the subject choice is reprinted (in two colums Dutch & French). The album is illustrated with 7 large engravings.
