Based in Georges Simenon's 1949 novel, "Le fond de la bouteille" ("The Bottom of the Bottle," published in the US in the 1954 collection, "Tidal Wave"). The film centers around a wealthy rancher (Cotten) in the border town of Nogales, Arizona, and his brother (Johnson), a drunk, who escapes from prison and hides in his garage. Johnson wants his brother, the rancher, to help him across the Santa Cruz River into the Mexico, where his wife (Shirley Patterson as Shawn Smith) lives in squalor. A story set and shot on location in the Arizona. 8 x 10 inches. Light rubbing overall, else Near Fine.
