Based on Thackeray's classic novel, the film was the first feature length film to be shot with the three-strip Technicolor technique. However, the poorly written script made the film rather unsuccessful commercially. Miriam Hopkins was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance. 10 x 8 inches.
