Booksellers ticket of Jasper Golder Reading on the pastedown. A short collection of poems by sisters Ruth & Celia Duffin. Ruth Duffin [ 1878 - 1968 ] was the first warden of Riddel Hall in Belfast, which was built by the Riddel sisters as a Hall of Residence for female students at Queen's University. One of Celia's poems is a 2 verse ode to Captain Scott. 125 grams.

Illustrated by a third sister, Emma 47 pp. and top edges unexploded. Celia Duffin (1887-1983) was born in Belfast, one of six sisters whose father was a stockbroker. She and Ruth published two volumes of poetry. Toned endpapers, else bright and clean.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. First story is Joan Visits a Farm. 128 pages. 8.5 x 7". A chunky volume of stories and rhymes. Covers darkened and grubby. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Front edge of spine cracked. Large ink inscription to verso of frontis. A few hinges cracked so binding feels weak. Some light foxing and an odd mark to contents. One plate is MISSING and one partially detached. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!
