New half goatskin and marbled boards by the artisan binder Sasha Mosalov. The Venetian painter Piazzetta (1682-1754) executed commissions for various Venetian and foreign nobles, many of whom are named in the list of subscribers. He produced drawings for more than sixty books, the most famous of which is Albrizzi's 1745 Gerusalemme Liberata. The plates here were produced after Piazzetta's death by his pupils Marco Pitteri and Francesco Bartolozzi, who provided a copy of each of his drawings in their own distinctive style.OCLC Number / Unique Identifier:1184193209:Physical Description:14 unnumbered pages, 11 leaves, 48 plates : frontispiece ; 30 x 44 cm ; folio.Notes:24 of the plates engraved by F. Boorsch, Venetian Prints And Books In The Age Of Tiepolo [exhibition catalogue] (1997), p.20-1, 42; The Glory of Venice, ed. The first forty-eight plates form pairs, each pair showing one composition in two manners of representation. In Pitteri Piazzetta had one of the most able etchers of his chalk drawings. Pitteri adopts Faldoni's method of etching long parallel lines and by selectively exaggerating their raggedness imbues them with great subtlety. The book is a tribute from Albrizzi to Piazzetta, who had provided illustrations for more than sixty of Albrizzi's publications, most famously the Gerusalemme Liberata of 1745.

Guercino Pinsit. F. Bartolozzi sculp. Gedruckt in brauner Farbe. Blatt gerahmt - durchgängig hell stockfleckig./ Self-portrait of Barbieri, named Guercino, engraved by F.Bartolozzi. Printed in brown colour. Leaf lightly but continuous foxed. dalton, librarian and art-counsel of the king, charged Bartolozzi with a serie of Engravings after drawings of Guercino before B. lived in England.
