Heather Morris, author of the internationally bestselling novels The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey, grew up on a farm in rural New Zealand. On her way back across the paddocks from school, Heather would visit her great-grandfather and listen to his experiences of war - stories he told only Heather. From a young age Heather discovered that people would tell her their stories if she stopped and listened. In Stories of Hope, Heather Morris will explore the art of listening - a skill she employed when she met Lale Sokolov, the Tattooist of Auschwitz. It was her ability to listen that led him to entrust her with his story. Stories of Hope will examine Heather's extraordinary journey, in the form of a series of beautifully rendered tales of the people she has met, the remarkable stories they have shared with her, and the lessons they hold for us all.

In den Warenkorb, approximately 720 pages, an 8 page issue for each day of the week. London's first half penny newspaper, which aimed for mass appeal through the reporting of international scandal and gruesome crimes. The contents include regular book reviews, daily news concerning London's political and industrial worlds, as well as substantial foreign correspondence and news of internation affairs. Of note is news of hangings for murder and other crimes, which demonstrate through the course of the papers a debate and changing attitude, towards the abolition of corporal punishment. There is a regular correspondence from Spain on the Radical Party and the political situation, which illustrates the unrest that would soon lead to the Spanish civil war. First Edition , the book has staining to front board, spine worn and torn, front and rear hinges cracked at bottom, insides clean and bright, but lacking the first couple of pages, book is ex-library with usual stamps and markers, poor condition , brown cloth, gilt title on spine 46 x 32 cm Hardback ISBN:
