Near contemporary blue half morocco, blue cloth over boards. Gilt titles, raised bands, and gilt ship motifs tooled to spine. Top edge gilt. Light blue endpapers. Internally bright and clean, some light thumbing here and there. Some faint sunning to upper cloth. A crisp copy in a near fine binding. A detailed record of the ships throughout history that used the Thames as a port. Bowen moves somewhat chronologically, starting with Viking longboats and Norman crusader ships - moving swiftly onto vessels of the 19th century.
