One of an edition specially bound for subscribers, limited to 75 copies, hand-set, printed and, in this case, bound for Simon Lawrence of the Fleece Press (as inscribed on the colophon) at Incline Press. Printed on 160 gsm Heritage paper from John Purcell, London. The 13 pt Poliphilus type was cast by Peter Sanderson at Whittington and the 16 pt at M & H Type of San Francisco. Part-bound in green cloth with a marbled paper-covered front board, and printed label to front board. Small Octavo, 185 mm x 145 mm, pp. [24], illustrated. A book in Fine condition. 100 copies were bound in hand-made DeNimes rag paper from Two Rivers Paper of Watchet in Somerset, and devised for the Oxford Guild of Printers Millenium Project.

37 x 27 x 8cm slipcase holding two items - the deluxe edition of the book, hardcover, 242pp; and the portfolio containing the CD and reproductions of Peggy Angus material. The CD contains interviews with Peggy Angus. The design of the book and the letterpress printing has been carried out by Graham Moss and Kathy Whalen at Incline Press in Oldham. Published in an edition of 350 copies, of which this is no. 69. The author, Carolyn Trant, was one of Peggy Angus' students. From the publisher's description: "The title of our book, Art for Life, is taken from a prospectus she prepared advertising her Community Art School at the Camden Studio Workshops in the 1970s and sums up Peggy's belief that art was as much about birthday cakes and bonfire celebrations as it was about museums. As those who knew her will appreciate, Peggy's output is much too large to be contained between the covers of a simple book. The pages are filled with photos, reproductions and prints. The book needs to be specially housed. In consultation with Stephen Conway, a slip case has been devised to hold the book and a specially-designed portfolio. This will contain four facsimile sketchbooks and a CD of Peggy taken from the tapes Carolyn made while working on the book with her.
