Warner, spent his vacation in August 1796 in Wales, walking from Bath to Caernarfon and back; he covered 36 miles on the first day and 462 miles in all, at an average of 26 miles a day. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with light age-toning and light spotting particularly to the first and last few pages. Offsetting from plates to reverse side of pages. A few marks to pages 84 and 85. Prior owner's pencil inscription to top of dedication page. Good. book.

An amusing satire on fashionable life in Bath by the Rector of Claverton, first published in 1807. This is a very good copy, uncut, in boards, with the printed label, priced at 5s. It also has a loosely inserted folded leaf, with the real names of 35 of the featured characters in manuscript, with a postscript: "this was all that I really can find out, but will do my best to find the rest".
