An account of a round the world trip undertaken in 1948 to visit and assess the status of the Yale-in-China cooperative program as it manifested in China following WWII. The author, a prominent Yale graduate and Presbyterian missionary, had previously spent some 11 years in China as an educator and university administrator. The trip stopped at Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nanking, Hankow, Wuchang and Changsha, all locations that had benefitted in one form or another from the Yale program. Light age toning of endpapers, old crease along outer edge of fold-out map. Binding and interior pages all in fine condition. 86 pp., 1 fold-out map Size: 23 x 16 cm.

Copyright page also dated 1926. 434 pages. Binding good and tight. Along with Wheeler's name, authorial credit is also given to RobertMcGregor, Maria Gilmore, Ann Reid, and Robert Speer. This copy has a 3-line inscription from the W. Reginald Wheeler on the front endpaper, dated 1932. This volume comes from the collection of Dr. Thomas Lovejoy, who was a passionate book collector as well as a renowned biologist.
