Amazing Stories is an American science fiction magazine launched in April 1926 by Hugo Gernsback's Experimenter Publishing. It was the first magazine devoted solely to science fiction. This is the British edition, published by Thorpe and Porter from June 1950 to February 1955, in different sizes and schedules. This issue contains: a range of feature articles, a novel by Rog Philllips, "Weapon from the Stars", shorts by Roy B. Frentz and Alexander Blade, a novelet by Walt Sheldon and a novelet by Frederic Brown, "Gateway to Glory". It was launched in September 1990 to provide a market for speculative fiction writers, with a particular emphasis on raising the profile of Australian authors.
