Based on the classic 1976 film starring Walter Matthau, about an alcoholic, former minor-league baseball player who becomes the coach of an unsuccessful youth baseball team. In this episode, Coach Buttermaker buys a lackluster racehorse. Self wrappers. Vintage script for the 1972 touring stage production of the 1971 musical. With the name of actor Greg Evigan in manuscript pencil on the front wrapper, and in manuscript ink on the title page, however, script appears to have been used by several different cast members, with notations in various hands throughout. A classic teen musical about the opposites-attract high school romance between a local bad boy and good girl exchange student in the late 1950s. Basis for the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The touring production debuted at the Eden Theatre on February 14, 1972, and ended at the Majestic Theatre on April 13, 1980. Orange titled Studio Duplicating Service wrappers. Title page present, with a copyright date of 1970, and credits for playwrights Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, choreographer Patricia Birch, and director Tom Moore. 92 leaves, with last page of text numbered 2-5-41.
