Book Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 1st Edition . Very Good/No Jacket. pp80. Approx 10" x 12". Loose hinges. Young juvenile full colour cover does not do justice to contents which describe the full role of the Royal Mail/Post Office in the period 1911-1914 joining the Empire. Many line and full colour illustrations of everything from the Mount Pleasant sorting office through a packet ship attacked by pirates to an OAP collecting his pension. If the account is correct then the letter sent from England to the Bay of Bengal cost only 1 old penny in total. How very different from today. Intended as a child's book, this is much, much more.
