The dustjacket is in a worn state, with splits, tears, creasing, foxing and browning with loss, in three pieces, now housed in a removable protective sleeve. The book is in 1/4 morroco clampshell box, cloth sides, spine in 6 compartments with title and rolled gilt tooling. Limited to 100 copies. This was the first book in English solely devoted to the Roe. Part 1 The Natural History; Part II Roe Hunting; Part III Roe Shooting; Part IV The Roe In Heraldry; Part V Management Of Roe. An extremely scarce title, there were 72 initial subscribers to this book, which included many leading sportsmen of the day, libraries and institutions. A book which seldom appears for sale.
