Es dokumentiert die Vielfalt der Weber und Stoffdrucker in 14 indischen Distrikten, die Saris herstellen. Die verschiedenen Designs, Farben und Techniken zeigen die beeindruckende Vielfalt dieses traditionellen Kleidungsstucks. Zudem werden 108 Wickeltechniken anschaulich dargestellt, die die unterschiedlichen Trageweisen des Sari verdeutlichen. Der Sari ist ein ungenahtes, rechteckiges Tuch aus farbiger Seide oder Baumwolle, das in verschiedenen Formen getragen wird und oft mit einer breiten Schmuckborte verziert ist. Dieses Standardwerk wurde 2011 von der Motovun-Association als schonster Bildband ausgezeichnet und ist in eigens gestalteter Seide gebunden. Rta Kapur Chishti, Co-Autorin und Herausgeberin zahlreicher Publikationen uber Saris und indische Textilien, grundete die ,Sari School", die Workshops zum Tragen von Saris anbietet. Martand Singh, Direktor des INTACH (UK) Trust in Neu-Delhi, war zuvor Direktor des Calico Textilmuseums und initiierte die Vishvakarma-Ausstellungsreihe.
