In den WarenkorbScott was the author of books on subjects as diverse as the bluestockings and metaphysical poets. He produced two works on Joan of Arc: first, in 1956, the Folio Society published his edition of 'The trial of Joan of Arc, being the verbatim report of the proceedings from the Orleans Manuscript'; then, in 1974, appeared his biography 'Jeanne d'Arc', published by Harrap. With regard to the present material, Items One to Five are all typed, and Item Seven contains exclusively-autograph material. There is occasional slight damage, but all texts are clear and entire (but note numbering of Item Two), and in good overall condition. ONE: Dramatic account titled 'From Domremy to the Stake [last two words amending 'Rouen'] / A Reverie on the Life of Joan of Arc / Colour Photography by Louis Falquet / Text by W. S. Scott / [added in autograph: Based upon "The Trial of Joan of Arc," (W. S. Scott), actual words.'] / with the voices of / Jeanne d'Arc . Anne Chobaut / Pierre Cauchon . Gerardus Beekman un [sic] the chair.' [1] + 19pp, 4to. Numbered with extra 1A and no p.17. Each page on a separate leaf. With four deletions of several lines each. THREE: Article titled 'Jeanne d'Arc and England.' Undated. 9pp, foolscap 8vo. With revisions and blocks of text on slips of paper laid down on the nine leaves. FOUR: French document on letterhead of the Ville de Vaucouleurs (Meuse), dated 3 November 1958, signed by several parties, with the town's stamp and red wax seal, headed 'PROCES VERBAL CONSTATANT LA REMISE EN PLACE D'UNE PREMIERE PIERRE'. In the presence of several notables, and of Scott's wife, 'Monsieur le Réverend Docteur Walter Sydney [sic] SCOTT, Citoyen d'Honneur de la Ville de VAUCOULEURS, / a remis en place une pierre de la terrasse du Gros Tilleul marquant ainsi le commencement des travaux historiques'. 1p, 8vo. FOUR: Typescript of positive review by E. E. Székely, in French, of 'W. S. Scott / JEANNE D'ARC'. FIVE: Duplicated typescript (4pp, foolscap 8vo) of transcript ('WITH THE COMPLIMENTS OF THE BBC') of BBC World Service broadcast 'Books and Writers Week 15', broadcast three times in April 1974.
