A very good set of 2 very substantial volumes (complete). Hardbacks with leather spine and corners. Gilt decoration and raised bands. Some scuffing and bumping and wear to extremities, but all soundly bound. Marbled endpapers with green cloth strengthening to inner hinges (presumably as issued, given the weight of these books). Edges are marbled, and have index cutaways. Well illustrated throughout, with fine colour plates with tissue guards. A few spots to blank endpapers, but text is bright and clean throughout, and plates are impressive. Occasional page flaw - crease to final text page with small nibble at foot of page, and crease to final endpaper. Crease to title page of Vol. II. Text in English.
