Sold along with a sixth printing of Robert's other book written as Endicott, Mayor Harding of New York (New York, The Mohawk Press, 1931), a good copy in original cloth, top corner of front board bleached, otherwise clean.

Roberts was a prolific black journalist of West Indian origins, who was later known for his travel books of that region. Front cover lightly stained. Rear cover slightly creased. Contents very good. Printed on thick quality rag paper. Edges hand cut, with some edges slightly torn as a result. 270mm x 200mm. 46 pages plus two pages of adverts. ***The first and only issue of this literary magazine, although the title page states 'Quarterly', which was obviously the intention of the editor / publisher Henry Danielson. This issue contains the following short stories: 'The Windows of the Cupola' by Deverell Dagnal, 'A Mask of Yashmaks' by Bernard Muddiman, 'The Blessed Miracle' by Jack Darmuzey, 'The Bet' by Alexander Griffiths, 'Four Penn'orth' by E. Powys Mathers and 'A Question of Colour' by Addington Osgoode. Inscribed by the author: "For Lillian Fassett with the author's homage. Walter Adolphe Roberts. September 27, 1919." The author's uncommon first book, a volume of poetry, accompanied by a few translations into English of poems by European poets.
