Hardcover. Zustand: VG-. 1st Edition. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, pale red cloth boards with black and gilt on spine. Exterior shows minor spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Stain is present on lower half of spine cloth. Inscribed and signed on the front end page by the editor who was also the author's wife: "To Katherine Embrie (?) With appreciation for a valued friendship - Olive Clapper, July 1944". The internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no hinge issues. Pages are toned due to age and there is some spotting and foxing present though mainly limited to the end pages and pastedowns. There is a very small stain on the outside fore edge which starts at the half title page and can be seen up to the table of contents page. There are also issues with the upper outside corner from pages 339 on which has a small tear on the first page and some bumps/creases on the remaining ones. This may be from when the book was originally created and not from misuse. Signed by Author(s).
