A cult magazine, Literal, like Martín Fierro in the 1920s, had a strange influence on Argentina in the 1970s. It brought a perverse novelty: the slow distillation of psychoanalysis in literature, which a few years earlier, at the hands of Oscar Masotta, produced the hybrid of a cross between the unconscious and the letter. The result was an extreme proposal that many drank from to clarify things and produce texts.
