Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A.T. QUILLER-COUCH THE ADVENTURES OF HARRY REVEL SCRIBNERS 1903 1ST VG. My collections include many first edition books of fiction, and it is time to move some of them along. For the time being I am going to list these books only if they are in very good condition. I am pleased to offer then: The Adventures of Harry Revel by A.T. Quiller-Couch. As I am not all that familiar with vintage fiction, I found some help at Wikipedia and provide a short excerpt of what I found (with my thanks and occasional contribution): Sir Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch: (21 November 1863 12 May 1944) was a British writer who published using the pseudonym Q. Although a prolific novelist, he is remembered mainly for the monumental publication The Oxford Book of English Verse 1250-1900 (later extended to 1918) and for his literary criticism. He influenced many who never met him This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 7 ¾ inches 346 pages plus 4 pages of publisher s advents) was published by Charles Scribner s Sons dated 1903 and an apparent First Printing of the First Edition (according to my reading of the copyright page). The book is bound in dark blue (Oxford Blue) with gilt framing and gilt titles on cover and spine and the top edge is gilt too. Condition: This book is in very good condition (which is what as mentioned prompts me to list it). The hard covers are bright and presentable with some minor wear to the gilt framing and a small abrasion hardly noticeable along the bottom edge. The spine is a bit sunned but also still presentable. There has been some very minor bumping to the corners and spine tips and the book is a bit canted to the right. There is a speck or two of foxing on the front endpaper (but not the rear). Inside a former owner has left his penciled name (which can probably be erased if you choose; bless his soul) on the front endpaper. This is the only mark I found in the book which is otherwise bright and clean without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

Pages and illustrations are slightly tanned with foxing and dust marking towards the edges. Pastdowns and endpapers lightly tannes with pen inscription to front free paper. Binding is slightly shaky. Boards have light shelf-wear with minor corner bumping and visibly dusted edges. Spine slightly tanned with noticeable crushing. Black lettering has mild wear. Small hole to rear joint.

May contain markings such as bookplates, stamps, limited notes and highlighting, or a few light stains. Bundled media such as CDs, DVDs, floppy disks or access codes may not be included.
