Portwin, here writing under his wife's name Elizabeth Portwin, Known for the children's science fiction story "The Boy in the Moon" published in 1945,and The Werewolf story "The Limping Wolf", And "Death Swamp & Other Stories" & "The Zero Ray Terrors",etc, This children's story tells of The carrot folk who live in the centre of the earth and who operate a big machine that keeps the world spinning, and what happens when the machine stops. I can find no copies of this particular title recorded in any of the main institutional library collections. Illustrated in colour by Ern Shaw, running to 14 pages, covers rubbed with some creasing wear, internally old inscription to front paste down, the centre page has become loose from rusted staples else in good general condition, Very Scarce. This is a lighter item, shipping costs will be reduced accordingly at checkout where possible.
