In meinen Augen ist der Heldt ein wohl strukturiertes, sehr präzises und auch komplettes Lehrbuch der Spitzenklasse. Für mein Grundstudium der Biologie war es äusserst hilfreich. Für mich ist es das beste Biochemie-der-Pflanzen-Lehrbuch, das ich kennengelernt habe. Es besticht durch einen klaren, leicht nachvollziehbaren Stil. Vor allem die Kapitel über die Photosynthese sind sehr gut, aber auch die anderen geben einem hinreichend die Informationen, die man im Grundstudium braucht. Es ist recht ausführlich, sodass es sich eher zum Vorbereiten auf Prüfungen, als zum Mitlernen für der Vorlesung eignet.
