( ca. 1652) , in-folio, 30 x 20 cm, engraved title page + 92 engraved portraits , numbered in pencil in the upper right hand corner, one portrait (n° 91 , le conte Ian De Weert ) mounted on the verso of portrait 90. Bound in contemporary full vellum, Vellum a bit soiled, a marginal stain on portraits 20 and 21 but on the whole very well preserved. According to Thieme & Becker the work was first issued in 1651 and consisted of a title page and 78 portraits. Later issues followed and contained more portraits. The work was begun by father Pieter de Jode (I) and continued by his son Pieter (II). The title page is signed ; '' E. Quellinus inv. P. de Iode fecit ''.
