In overall very good used condition with only minor signs of age, handling and storage - boards rubbed to edges, leather slightly scuffed. Binding tight and appears almost unread. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions - small name stamp to second front endpaper; marbled page-ends slightly faded but text, engraved frontispiece portrait and marbled endpapers bright and clear throughout. Bon exemplaire quoi que les extrémitiés de la reliure montrent des traces d'usage; L'exceptionalité de ce livre réside dans le nombre du tirage: 4 EXEMPLAIRES. Ceci est l'exemplaire nominatif de sa fille Thérèse Casimir Périer (1844 - 1916) qui épousait Louis de Ségur en 1866. . Le livre contient une dédicace imprimée : Hommage des Employés et Ouvrieres de L'Imprimerie & de La Librairie Centrales des Chemins de Fer''. Le seul exemplaire répertorié se trouve à la Bibliothèque Nationale à Paris Casimir Périer après une carrière diplomatique et parlementaire devient ministre de l'intérieur sous Thiers en 1871. Son fils Jean Casimir-Périer sera élu président de la République en 1894.…
