This is a facsimile edition of the two-part work 'The Birds Australia and the Adjacent Islands' published by John Gould in 1837 and 1848, now widely known as the Cancelled Parts because they were subsequently withdrawn and their contents included in the seven volume 'The Birds of Australia' (1840-1848). In his introduction McEvey 'traces the complicated bibliographical history of this work and provides invaluable information on recorded copies, loose plates and original drawings'.
