Paperback. Zustand: Good. Revised and in Part Re-written. "To write the story of Jew-baiting properly would almost be to write the story of the Jewish people. The word usually employed to indicate this vice is the ugly word anti-semitism. The word was coined in Germany about 80 years ago, and is not only ugly, but inaccurate. Arabs, for example, are Semites, but we have no record of anti-semitism with reference to the Arabs. Before our eyes [in WWII] the attempt was made to solve the Jewish problem by exterminating the Jewish people. One would have thought that so grim a slaughter would have made further anti-semitism for ever impossible. But there are unmistakable signs that it only wants favouring conditions to rise again to sinister life. That we may prevent it if we can, let us consider when and how it has arisen." - page 3. "David McDougall (1889-1964) had a great love for the Jewish people, writing plays for the Jewish Women's Committee and [this book] for the Church of Scotland Jewish Committee. In 1936 he bacame editor of the Jewish Mission Quarterly, and five years later, his book, "In search of Israel" was published." - Uphall South Church website. Undated but appears to be circa 1950s. 23 Stapled pages. Unmarked with average wear. Tightly bound. A sound example. 18.5 x 12.4 cm. ; 12mo.
