The word usually employed to indicate this vice is the ugly word anti-semitism. The word was coined in Germany about 80 years ago, and is not only ugly, but inaccurate. Arabs, for example, are Semites, but we have no record of anti-semitism with reference to the Arabs. Before our eyes [in WWII] the attempt was made to solve the Jewish problem by exterminating the Jewish people. One would have thought that so grim a slaughter would have made further anti-semitism for ever impossible. But there are unmistakable signs that it only wants favouring conditions to rise again to sinister life. That we may prevent it if we can, let us consider when and how it has arisen." - page 3.
