Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - 'Those who are familiar with McClelland's other books know they are in for a thought-provoking treat worth 'cussing and discussing!' 'So why,' he asks, 'should people be interested in a GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOB For the same reason that the Book of Job is included in the Bible,' he argues. 'In the wisdom of the Church and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Book of Job becomes Sacred Scripture to keep the conversation about God honest!' McClelland goes on to suggest that Christ is God's Apology to the world for His questionable behavior in the Old Testament, and particularly, His need to use Job's family and their lives as stakes in a wager to bolster His Ego's insecurity! God's Apology made flesh in Jesus is His Ego's act of Reconciliation -- not merely forgiving our sins -- indeed, God does not even count them against us. Rather, God, Himself, has taken responsibility for His role in creating the problem of our alienation. Christ's death, therefore, is an atonement for God's Sin as well as ours. The culmination of McClelland's thesis is that God has entrusted this AMAZING Message to us and is once again betting on us to win the bet for Him! As usual, THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOB is not only a good read, but well worth your consideration!' - Genesis Literary Review.

Zustand: Good. Washington, February 4, 1855., 1855. Good. - Octavo, 8-7/8 inches high by 5-5/8 inches wide. Softcover, bound in printed self-wraps, removed in the distant past from a collection of bound pamphlets with stab marks along the spine. 3 pages, plus a blank page. There are minor creases with some minor stains to the cover pages. Good. A message on appropriations for the Indian Department regarding the colonization of Texas Indians upon reservations and the opening of communications with Texas tribes of Comanches and Apaches who have not yet approved treaties with the United States. Of note is Special Agent for Texas Indians Robert S. Neighbors' report in the form of a letter to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs Colonel George Manypenny. The Indian agent and Texas state legislator Robert Simpson Neighbors (1815-1859) was regarded as a determined protector of Indian interests. Neighbors was murdered after rightfully accusing the Belknap sheriff and saloon owner Patrick Murphy of stealing horses from the Indian Reservations. Murphy's brother-in-law, a man name Cornet, accused Neighbors of defaming Murphy. Neighbors was murdered by Cornet with a shotgun when he refused to recant the accusation. Cornet was later killed during his arrest after going on the run.
