First edition.Publisher's original paperback.Impressive colour folding map to the rear. Five pages of colour maps in the main body of text.Fascinating map of Britain in the Dark Ages, published by the Ordnance Survey under the Director-General Malcolm Neynoe MacLeod. The map was compiled by the Ordnance Survey Archaeology Officer, O. G. S. Crawford, with the help of many scholars. This work forms the nothern portion, the southern portion being published three years earlier in 1935. Publisher's original paperback. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, leading to a few small creases and tears to edges, most noticably to the head and tail of the spine. Light marking, including a minor tide mark, mainly to the front cover. Internally, binding a little fragile, particularly to the rear of the text block. Bright and clean with the odd spot only. Good. book.
