Henshaw and M.L. Ralston celebrate Sheikh Sabah al Salem al Sabah's inauguration of major new facilities at Sea Island, new production records, important progress in training Kuwaitis "to fill positions of greater responsibility" with trainee numbers up on the previous year from 244 to 370, and Ralston's appointment. The rest of the report highlights developments in exploration and drilling (Kuwait Bay and Bubiyan Island), production and completion of major new facilities, export, gas utilisation, employee training and career development, manpower, and special events. Among the events pictured are Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's visit to Ahmadi, the above mentioned inauguration of the Sea Island facilities which included ceremonial loading of the "mammoth tanker" Universe Kuwait, inauguration of a Mobile Exhibition for schools, and start of work on a 6-lane road connecting Fahahil to Ahmadi.
