This publication documents the 2016 exhibition One, No One and One Hundred Thousand, which took place at Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz. Curated by Luca Lo Pinto, the show took its inspiratio…n from Oulipo, a literary strategy whose objective was to propose new "structures" for writing that were mathematical in nature. Using A Thousand Billion Poems, a 1961 book by Raymond Queneau, one of Oulipo's founders, as a manifesto for the exhibition, nine artists were invited to create new works in a display that would change depending on the wishes of the visitor. Investigating and reformulating the conventional structure and limitations of exhibition making, One, No One and One Hundred Thousand challenged curatorial authorship and explored potentiality. The main actor of the exhibition was the viewer who was not a consumer but a coproducer, alongside the artists and the curator. This publication, which comprises photographs, dates, time stamps, and the names of the visitors, is a record of the 178 unique exhibitions realized. With artist contributions by Darren Bader, Jason Dodge, Phanos Kyriacou, Adriana Lara, Jonathan Monk, Marlie Mul, Amalia Pica, Martin Soto Climent, Lina Viste Grønli.

Housed in the House Museum at 31 Piazza di Spagna in Rome, the exhibition brought together works by the following artists: Alek O., Darren Bader, Nina Beier, Carola Bonfili, Benny Chirico, Patrizio Di Massimo, Giulio Frigo, Julia Frommel, Martino Gamper, Paul Armand Gette, Nicolas Hatfull, Isola & Norzi, Tobias Madison & Kaspar Mueller, Marcello Maloberti, Carlo Mollino, Momus, Olaf Nicolai, Henrik Olesen, Nicola Pecoraro, Emilio Prini, Dan Rees, Alexandre Singh, John Stezaker, Luca Trevisani, Luca Vitone, and Raphael Zarka. The book presents the result of a correspondence protocol suggested by Izet Sheshivari at the curator's invitation. After receiving and printing the 214 illustrations sent by the artist, Luca Lo Pinto arranged the pictures within the museum space, and documented them in situ. Featuring captions, the book provides "augmented" perspectives from a visit of Giorgio de Chirico's flat. Page after page, the book generates an ever-changing relationship between the meaning of a flat interior design and the remote discovery of works by contemporary artists. Language: English, Italian.

This is the first monograph dedicated to one of Italy's most enigmatic and complex artistic figures, Emilio Prini (1943-2016), a key figure of Arte Povera whose work has never been fully surveyed. Structured…chronologically from 1966 to 2016, it examines his work via a systematic iconographic and bibliographic analysis of Prini's archives along with the institutions he exhibited at. As he considered the medium secondary to the concept, no distinction is made between installations, sculptures, invitations, posters, or documents; and by presenting the works first individually and then situated in different contexts, the book provides a unique insight into his particular methodology. Prini also consistently rejected the notion of the artwork as a closed and defined object, interrogating the very framework of the exhibition format. In our current context, marked by the overproduction and overconsumption of images and objects, the ongoing relevance of Prini's independent, elusive, and uncompromising approach lies in his questioning the necessity of production itself. The volume includes a text by curator Luca Lo Pinto and scholarly contributions from Alexander Alberro, Stefano Chiodi, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Timotea Prini, and Andrea Viliani, alongside artist interventions by four international artists: Lara Favaretto, Adam Harrison, John Knight, and Anri Sala.
