Ltd. to document the remarkable collection of Sherlockiana housed in 'The Sherlock Holmes' public house on Northumberland Street, London. The collection itself largely originated from the celebrated 1951 Festival of Britain exhibition. The publication is richly illustrated with black-and-white photographs and includes introductory essays by A. Lloyd-Taylor and the renowned mystery author John Dickson Carr, alongside a 'Critical Miscellany' edited by H. Douglas Thomson. The striking purple covers were designed by Richard Lonsdale-Hands Associates, and the booklet was printed by W. S. Cowell Ltd. at the Butter Market in Ipswich.
