La suite "est une Critique du Dialogue ; elle pourrait bien être du Baron de Lisola, qui était Franc-Comtois" (Lelong, II, 28848 et 28852). L'un des adversaires les plus acharnés de Louis XIV, le diplomate François-Paul de Lisola (1613-1674) dénonça sans trêve les prétentions du Roi de France sur l'Europe entière. Une intéressante description est fournie par Charles Pieters (Annales de l'Imprimerie Elsevirienne, III, 31 et 32), qui attribue en définitive le premier ouvrages soit aux presses des Elseviers, soit aux concurrents d'Amsterdam (Wolfganck ou Boom), et le second aux Presses de François Foppens, à Bruxelles.Le premier chapitre commence ainsi : "Dialogue sur les Droits de la Reyne tres-Chrestienne. Un advocat François s'estant rencontré dans la ville de Bruxelles avec deux Advocats, l'un Flamand, & l'autre Allemend, ils eurent ensemble l'entretien qui suit". Le premier chapitre de la suite commence ainsi : "Suite du Dialogue sur les Droits de la Reyne tres-Chrestienne où se découvre la vanité des Prétentions de la France sur les Pays-Bas. Les Advocats François & Allemand s'estants rencontrez avec un Advocat Brabançon". Langue: Français.

Erste Ausgabe eines der frühen kritischen Frankreich-Traktate des französischstämmigen Publizisten und Diplomanten François Paul de Lisola (1613-1674), der in kaiserlich-habsburgischen Diensten stand. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine antifranzösische Haltung. Im Gegensatz zu führenden Ministern der Zeit, die im Rahmen der österreichischen Habsburgschaft in Spanien auf eine Verständigung mit Frankreich setzten, plädierte Lisola für ein europäisches Bündnis gegen den Expansionsdrang von Ludwig XIV. Leicht gebräunt, die ersten beiden Blätter mit Säureschatten. Vereinzelt minimal braunfleckig. Auf bemerkenswert festen Hadern. Primera edición de este tratado contra la política expansionista de Luis XIV y de las pretensiones de Francia sobre los Países Bajos. Francisco Lisaola (1613-1677) fue un estadista austríaco empleado por el emperador Fernando III en diferentes negociaciones importantes. Fue autor de diversos escritos políticos y obras de estado. 197x147mm. (7¾x5¾").

Plena piel posterior, tejuelo, nervios y hierros en seco en ambos planos, 21x15 cm., 10 hojas (incluso portada) + 216 pp. Buen estado de conservación. Firma y fecha antiguas (1733) en portadilla y ex libris manuscrito del diplomático y mecenas José Nicolás de Azara en primera hoja de texto. El autor, diplomático al servicio de los Habsburgo, denuncia en el libro la política expansionista de Luis XIV y las pretensiones de Francia en los Países Bajos. Parte de la crítica a unos libelos recientemente impresos ¿que tiran a derribar, por el cimiento, el Tratado de los Pirineos¿ (firmado entre Francia y España en noviembre de 1659).

Rare pamphlet du polémiste Lisola publié l'année de sa mort dont il existe au moins trois tirages à la date de 1674, celui-ci probablement le premier orthographié saulce et orné d'un fleuron sur le titre.Il est destiné à servir de réponse à une lettre de l'ambassadeur Louis de Verjus sur la conduite de l'Allemagne durant la guerre de 1673 ; Verjus de Crécy avait protesté contre la politique de l'Empereur, favorable aux Hollandais, et l'avait accusé de vouloir se subordonner l'Empire. Lisola répondit que la couronne impériale est élective et que l'Empereur est lié par les capitulations. L'épître dédicatoire au prince d'Osnabrug est signée François de Warendorp pseudonyme du baron de Lisola.Franc-comtois né à Salins, François-Paul de Lisola (1613-1674) se mit au service de l'Empire d'Autriche : chargé de diverses missions, il se montra diplomate habile. Mais il fut avant tout un polémiste infatigable et redouté qui de 1667 à 1674, combattit la politique de Louis XIV et lui chercha partout des adversaires. Ad 1: Second edition of a highly interesting collection of letters by some of the key-figures on the European political stage during the years 1668-1672, mirroring the often changing coalitions: from the Triple Alliance concluded in 1668 between the Dutch Republic, England and Sweden in order to restrain the expansionist ambitions and policy of Louis XIV, King of France, ultimately leading to the so-called rampjaar (disastrous year) 1672, when the Dutch Republic was attacked by France, England and the German bishoprics of Munster and Cologne.The first edition of this collection had appeared already in 1672 at Liege and Amsterdam, followed in the same year by an English translation.Ad 2: Remarks made at the court of Leopold I in Vienna, probably by Abraham de Wicquefort (1608-1682), diplomat and friend of Johan de Witt, regarding the position of the Holy Roman Emperor in the war in the Netherlands and his claims on the Southern Netherlands. Ad 3: Laudatory oration by Georges d'Aubusson de La Feuillade (1609-1697), a French Roman Catholic clergyman under Louis XIV who served as Archbishop of Embrun (1649-1668), then Bishop of Metz (1669-1697). Ad 4: Answer by Charles II to the memorandum of the liberal and enlightened Elector-Archbishop of Mainz, Johann Philip von Schönborn (1605-1673), presented to him by one of the Elector's relatives, Baron (Franz) von Schönborn. In the memorandum the Archbishop had offered mediation between England and the Dutch Republic in order to end the war.
