First edition. Memoirs of the Finnish military commander and statesman. He served as the military leader of the Whites in the Finnish Civil War (1918), as regent of Finland (19181919), as commander-in-chief of the Finnish Defence Forces during World War II (19391945), and as the president of Finland (19441946). He became Finland's only field marshal in 1933 and was appointed honorary Marshal of Finland in 1942. Pp.540, black & white photo portrait frontispiece. Black boards with bump to lower front corner, dustwrapper has edge chipping and tears with sone losses. Scarce. G+/G.

Black cloth covered boards with gilt titling to spine, in a dustjacket printed in yellow and illustrated with a map on front with black and red titling; top edge stained yellow. Sunning to spine of jacket, with some chipping to spine ends and upper corners of jacket. 10 mm closed tear to head and a light 9 mm circular stain to front of jacket. Some rubbing to spine ends of book and corners of boards, with a couple of bumps to head of front board. Interior is clean and unmarked. Laid in at front is a real photo postcard from Finland showing the grave of Marshal Mannerheim. Binding firm. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
