Zustand: Very good. - A sheet of cream card stock is folded to form 4 sides, each 4-3/8 inches high by 3-1/4 inches wide, printed and illustrated in blue. Signed in ink "Harry James" on the cover above a vignette of a band and a couple in evening dress dancing. There is a very light crease along the bottom edge of the card. Very good. Eastwood Gardens was a dance hall in Detroit, Michigan, which closed in 1953. The 1942 date of the signature is presumed because Harry James performed at "Michigan Theater" on August 28, 1942.On the two inner sides of the Eastwood card is a menu of beers, soft drinks, wines and champagne served there with prices. Their special Padre Sec California champagne is pictured on the 4th side with the price of their champagne cocktail.Harry James [1916-1983] was an American musician best known as a trumpet player and band leader who led a big band from 1939 to 1983. He was especially known among musicians for his remarkable technical proficiency and superior tone on the trumpet. He was extremely influential on up-and-coming trumpet players from the late 1930s to the 1940s.

(Neate, U01) Inscribed on the half title: "To Robert S. McNamara - who knows why men climb mountains - from the Americans On Everest / Norman G. Dyhrenfurth / Santa Monica, 1964." Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara had a lifelong passion for mountaineering. In the 1940's, he ascended Mount Whitney in California and made it to 18,000 feet on Mount Everest in the 1980's. His support of the 1963 American Expedition to summit Everest was critical to the teams success. Norman G.
