Bernard Lamy, matematico e teologo francese, membro dell`ordine degli Oratoriani fu costretto all`esilio per aver sostenuto e insegnato la filosofia di Cartesio e fu incontrasto con la Chiesa Cattolica e del Concilio di Trento per aver contestatoil carattere storico del libro di Tobia e del libro di Giuditta.Il volume in esameaffronta anche argomenti come la storia degli Ebrei e della Terra Santa, la descrizione del Tabernacolo e del Tempio, la storia delle Scritture e molti altri argomenti marginali come piante, animali, minerali, malattie e usanze menzionate nella Bibbia. Lamy, anche in esilio, continuò a occuparsi di scienze matematiche, prospettiva e soprattutto fisica meccanica, fra gli altri scrisse anche un trattato sull`Arca dell`Alleanza. Esemplare in buono stato conservativo, molto fresco all`interno.
