Das führt schon bei der einfachen Lektüre des Buches zu ständigen Aha-Erlebnissen. Der erfahrenere Werfer versteht plötzlich eine Menge Dinge, die er bis dahin lediglich 'irgendwie' wußte. Wenn man darüber hinaus Mel Kriegers Übungsempfehlungen folgt, wird es erst richtig schön: Schritt für Schritt lernt man die technischen Abläufe tatsächlich zu spüren, und das Spüren, das Wahrnehmen des Wurfvorgangs ist die eigentliche Quintessenz, die uns Mel Krieger mit seiner ausgereiften und sensiblen Methode mit auf den Weg gibt. So ausgestattet wird jeder seine Wurfkünste, seine Erlebnisfähigkeit und den Genuß am Fliegenfischen kontinuierlich weiterentwickeln können.Der Anfänger bekommt eine erstklassige Methodik zum Verständnis und zur Weiterentwicklung der Wurftechnik, einige Fortgeschrittene werden all die Dinge, die sie in unterschiedlichen Wurfkursen gelernt haben, möglicherweise zum ersten mal richtig verstehen, und ein wenig Philosophie gibt es auch noch. Mel Kriegers Quintessenz des Fliegenwerfens ist ein wertvoller Begleiter für ein ganzes Fliegenfischerleben.
