In addition to the normal library markings and attachments, there are some light scattered soil spotting throughout the text. The title page and Prefatory Letter by Charles Darwin are loose, but present with the book. The front hinge is beginning to crack and the binding is beginning to crack in a few other spots, however, there are no loose or missing pages exept for the previously stated. The cover has lots of scuffing. Included toward the end of the book are three plates which show various views of many flowers.
