Cloth. Zustand: Fair. No Jacket. Green cloth binding with gilt print on the cover and spine. In addition to the normal library markings and attachments, there are some light scattered soil spotting throughout the text. The title page and Prefatory Letter by Charles Darwin are loose, but present with the book. The front hinge is beginning to crack and the binding is beginning to crack in a few other spots, however, there are no loose or missing pages exept for the previously stated. The cover has lots of scuffing. Included toward the end of the book are three plates which show various views of many flowers.

Clean and tightly bound in green cloth with gilded titles and nature imagery. Light shelf wear, remains Very Good. The illustrated contents show shelf wear and light penciling, minor split at front hinge and a few spots, remains Very Good. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
