Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good+. Reprint. (no dust jacket) [a good sound copy, nice and clean with just a little wear at the extremities, slight scrunching to top edges of several pages in the middle of the book]. A novel of "love, intrigue, horror, and murder," the story of "a brilliant and ruthless woman, [a] governess whose charm and diabolic cleverness brought destruction in their wake." Reprint of the first novel published by this prolific author under her "Joseph Shearing" pseudonym; it originally appeared in England in 1932 under the title "Forget-Me-Not," and was published in America the same year by Harper & Brothers as "Lucile Cléry: A Woman of Intrigue." (Note that the book itself bears no date other than the 1932 copyright notice, which causes most booksellers to mis-identify this printing as the first American edition. Unfortunately, the clues to the 1941 printing are present only on the dust jacket, which is NOT present on this particular copy.). Illustrated by (dj design) Leo Manso (illustrator).…

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Historical and current educational perspectives are epistemologically challenging to weave together. The contributors brought together in this book have risen to that challenge and, in the process, have produced a detailed and thorough account of the issues and processes at play.Science, Mathematics, and Technology (SMT) education is recognised globally as a means of developing critically needed human capital. In Zimbabwe, SMT subjects constitute a significant component of the curriculum which, since political independence in 1980, has emphasised application-oriented, experientially-based teaching and learning. Efforts to mainstream this approach have resulted in several significant reforms to the country's education system. Relatedly, there are ongoing attempts to boost uptake in SMT subjects and, through them, to develop such professional skills as problem-solving, lifelong learning, teamwork, critical thinking, and the capacity to contribute and adapt to our rapidly changing world. There is a self-evident need to document progress made in these efforts and, in the process, to carefully examine issues at play, challenges met, and solutions developed. This book, developed through a partnership involving Zimbabwean editors and authors, was developed to fulfil this need. It is long overdue.…

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good+. Very Good dj. Reprint. (price-clipped) [light wear to cloth at spine ends, light soiling to top page edges; jacket has a couple of tiny chips at bottom edge, a few minor tears at edges and corners]. A novel of "love, intrigue, horror, and murder," the story of "a brilliant and ruthless woman, [a] governess whose charm and diabolic cleverness brought destruction in their wake." Reprint of the first novel published by this prolific author under her "Joseph Shearing" pseudonym; it originally appeared in England in 1932 under the title "Forget-Me-Not," and was published in America the same year by Harper & Brothers as "Lucile Cléry: A Woman of Intrigue." First edition, first printing. Publisher's original brown cloth with gilt titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the cloth and gilt bright and fresh. The contents, with toning to the poor quality paper stock are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked, price-clipped dustwrapper that has a small amount of loss to the head of the slightly darkened spine. An attractive example of a very scarce title in the first edition. A crime novel from the author better known as Marjorie Bowen. The basis for the 1948 British film of the same title directed by Marc Allégret and starring Valerie Hobson and Stewart Granger. (Hubin).
