No Binding. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. Foxwell, Herbert Sydney (illustrator). 3 Teddy Tail Birthday cards dating to the 1930s. Each measures 4.25'' by 4.75''. Good condition. Illustrations by Herbert Sydney Foxwell. All three cards have been used and were sent to a boy called Raymond - two have his name written in a space on the front, the other has his name and address typed on the back and is postmarked 7th October 1936. They are in good condition with minor rubbing to the edges, minor soiling/scuffing and one has a small closed tear to the edge and minor creasing. ''Teddy Tail'' was a newspaper comic strip about a mouse, printed in the ''Daily Mail'' from 1915 to the 1960s. It was very popular and from 1933 children could join the Teddy Tail League, as part of which they received a badge and Birthday cards, of which these are examples.

[No date internally c. 1940] Card covers stiff, lightly foxed and a little stained, no tears to the edges, staples tight; Pages crisp and bright, free from scribbles or annotations, generously illustrated in full-colour; Binding tight.
