"The tomb described in this volume was found during the winter of 1906-7, in the course of our first season's work at Lisht. (Introduction). Little is known about this woman who lived at the end of the 12th Dynasty. In her undisturbed tomb records were found indicating a second name for her, Zathapy (daughter of Apis, a son of Hathor, a primary deity in the pantheon of ancient Egypt), bearing the common title "Lady of the House." Her mummified body was placed in a set of three coffins. The volume is beautifully illustrated with numerous in-text drawings and thirty-five plates rendered lithographically, three of them in color.
