Oktober 1901 in Hüttenbach geboren, einem kleinen Ort am Rande der Fränkischen Schweiz. Er schildert in diesem kleinen Werk seine Erlebnisse während des Dritten Reiches. Verhaftet und in das KZ-Lager Dachau gebracht, erzählt er von den Grausamkeiten, welche dort an der Tagesordnung waren. Nach einem Vierteljahr kam er für weitere vier Jahre ins Gefängnis nach Nürnberg. Wieder in der Heimat, musste er die Verfolgung seiner jüdischen Mitbürger miterleben. 1943 von der deutschen Wehrmacht einberufen und nach Jugoslawien transportiert, schildert er seine Eindrücke von der sogenannten Partisanenbekämpfung, von wo ihm 1945 die Flucht in die Heimat gelang.
