This wartime volume presents in its publisher's original beige cloth binding, lacking the dust wrapper. The boards exhibit moderate overall wear, characterised by discernible grubbiness and several notable foxing or moisture stains, most prominently affecting the lower rear board. The red stamped lettering and horizontal banding to the spine remain entirely legible, though they show mild fading. The spine itself is slightly sunned, while the extremities, particularly the spine tips and corners, are gently bumped and rubbed from shelf use. Internally, the text block remains sound and securely bound, with the page edges showing expected age-related tanning. Overall, it is a structurally solid but cosmetically worn example of a fragile wartime production.
