Tight and handsome first edition of this slim verse gathering by the Latvian-Canadian psychologist and poet (born 1940) who's a major player in the world of haikus, boldly inscribed and signed by him in black ballpoint on title page: "Bill, / A fellow traveller, / wonderful co…mpanion, / George / Haiku Chicago / Oct 21/95." Bill Pauly (1942-2021) was an Iowa poet and academic especially well known for his haikus. Fine association copy from one haiku master to another.

Soft cover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Very good condition. Minor wear to book corners and edges. Interior and binding are still excellent. George Martindale described these actions for his family members in the letters he sent home, forming a collection of his writings that is the basis of this book. He may well have beco…me one of the great writers of twentieth-century Australia had his life not ended prematurely as a result of the injuries he sustained on the Western Front.
